Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

National/State Election

Over 10,000 Hopkinton residents showed up to vote on Election Day Tuesday or via early voting. Here are the highlights:

  • Vice President Kamala Harris outperformed former President Donald Trump in Hopkinton. Harris took 6,634 votes to Trump’s 3,120.
  • Residents voted in favor of Democratic candidates; U.S. Rep. James McGovern and Sen. Elizabeth Warren outperformed respective challengers Cornelius Shea (I) and John Deaton (R).
  • Tamisha Civil received 5,629 votes in the race for Governor’s Council against Francis Crimmins, who took 3,646 votes.
  • Question 1, which would allow the state auditor to audit the legislature, was the only ballot measure Hopkinton residents voted to support.
