Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
Ilana Casady joined the Hopkinton Cultural Council because she is “proud to live in Hopkinton and wanted to get more involved. I come from a family of artists, so I was going back to my roots.” Now in her second term, Casady, the HCC chair, is looking for five individuals who want an experience similar to hers.
Hopkinton PolyArts, which is hosting its annual festival this Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Town Common, announced that it has received a grant of $2,500 from the Mass Cultural Council through its Festivals and Projects Program, a recognition of PolyArts’ “significant public value.”
This week’s Real Estate Transactions list includes eight properties, half of which sold for more than $1 million.
The 16th annual Respite Center Coffeehouse, featuring musical performances by Dan Cloutier, Ricardo Barraza and Kim Jennings, will be held Sept. 22 at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts.
HOP (Hopkinton Organizing for Prevention) presents a Celebration of Recovery on Sept. 24 at the Town Common. This community event will celebrate individuals and families in support of or connected to substance abuse recovery.
Town meetings today include the Council on Aging (1 p.m.), Parks & Recreation Commission (5:30) and Cultural Council (6).
