Jacqueline Fleming

Jacqueline M. “Jackie” (Ferland) Fleming, 88, of Auburn passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home in Hopkinton. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas E. Fleming, who passed in 1997.

Born in Coventry, Vermont, and raised in Charlestown, New Hampshire, on the family farm, Jackie was one of six children born to the late Donat and Bertha (Choquette) Ferland, both native of Canada. She attended Saint Mary’s High School in Claremont, New Hampshire. Jackie met her beloved Thomas and the pair were married shortly thereafter. They enjoyed many wonderful years of marriage, and loved to travel and go dancing together. She enjoyed her longstanding job at American Bank Stationery. Jackie will be remembered for her love of the beach, travel, books, and her Cape house, and how her grandchildren made her life complete.

She leaves her daughters, Pamela A. Fleming and Laurie J. Fleming, both of Auburn, and Maureen P. Missaggia and her former husband, David, of Hopkinton; her grandchildren, Mason, Kendal, Alec, Ivy and Rene; her sister, Roseanne LaCasse of West Lebanon, New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, Jackie was predeceased by her siblings Lillian Brassaw, Ronald Ferland, Richard Ferland and Anita Ferland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 (worcesterarl.org/donate).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jackie’s family from 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a prayer service to follow at 5:30. Masks and social distancing measures will be required. Burial will be held privately.
