Kaushik named a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine

by | Jul 6, 2020 | News

Hopkinton resident Meena Kaushik was honored during a virtual ceremony on June 24 after being named a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. Kaushik was nominated by state Rep. Carolyn Dykema.

Meena is a natural bridge builder with a passion for bringing people together,” Dykema said in a press release. “Since moving to Hopkinton, she has dedicated herself to giving back and enriching the community through the arts and cultural awareness. Meena is a consummate volunteer and a true leader. It was my honor to nominate her for this recognition.”

Kaushik is the community outreach chair for the South Asian Circle of Hopkinton, a group for which she is a founding member. She is an active member of the scouting community and the town’s Cultural Council, and recently was elected to a position on the Board of Library Trustees. Kaushik also is very involved in Budget Buddies, a nonprofit that helps women become financially independent.
