ADULT PROGRAMS

Your Health: Zip Code or DNA
Oct. 5, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library is offering this four-part workshop about the impacts of environment on human health. Material for study includes a variety of readings, podcasts and films. Topics include how health is impacted by air, water, food and neighborhood surroundings. The class involves group discussions and activities related to the materials. Participants are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible. Registration is required so information about the readings can be distributed each week. This is the last of the four sessions.

CHILDREN’S/YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS

Play, Learn and Grow Play Group
Thursdays, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10-11 a.m.
This play group, let by Project ABC, will include free play as well as a circle time with stories, songs and rhymes. It is recommended for children ages 0-5 with a caregiver.

Buildwave for Grades 1-4
Saturday, Oct. 3, noon-1 p.m.
During this event, participants build with waves of materials like Lego, Plus-Plus and more. Each building wave is enhanced by an audiovisual experience. This session is for children in Grades 1-4. Registration is required. Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied at all times by a responsible person age 12 or older. This program is funded by the Hopkinton Moms Group.

During this event, participants build with waves of materials like Lego, Plus-Plus and more. Each building wave is enhanced by an audiovisual experience. This buildwave session is for tweens/teens in Grades 5-9. Registration is required.

Resin Keychains with Mystic Moon Beads
Thursday, Oct. 15, 4-5 p.m.
Sue from Mystic Moon Beads will lead this program for older children to make their own pressed flower keychain using real dried flowers and resin. Registration is required, and this program is open to ages 13-18 only.

SCHEDULE UPDATES

The HPL strategic plan focus group will meet in person in the Ellsworth Room on Oct. 3 at 11 a.m.

The Friends of the Library will meet in the Strong Room on Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The library will be closed Oct. 10-12 in observance of Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day.

The Massachusetts Center for the Book will meet in the Strong Room on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ellsworth Room.
