According to the latest Main Street Corridor Project update, paving from the fire station to Ray Street is scheduled to begin early next week.
Milling for the transitions onto the side roads will be done on Monday. Crews will commence paving operations on Tuesday and Wednesday. The paving includes sides streets along with parts of Grove Street and Cedar Street within the project area.
Prior to that, driveway work is scheduled at the fire station and 77 Main Street for Friday and Monday. One side of the driveway will remain open at all times. Work on the west driveway at Town Hall and BoMain Pizza is set for Monday as well. During the work, the east driveway will be available for two-way traffic.
The eastbound detour on Main Street that began this week will continue Monday-Friday next week between 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Traffic will detour onto Pleasant Street, then Maple Street and finally onto Hayden Rowe Street. Drivers are asked to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
Weather and other existing conditions may change the projected work schedule. Detours or alternating traffic will be used as needed for project work. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
