Aug. 5
7:37 a.m. A caller reported a tree fell on Saddle Hill Road and took down a wire, which then was across the roadway. Units responded and determined it was a cable wire. It was moved, and the tree debris was cleared from the roadway. Eversource was notified.
10:25 a.m. A caller from Davis Road reported a possible civil dispute regarding a car sale. Officer Matthew Santoro spoke to the caller and referred them to the Shirley Police, as the dispute took place in that town.
11:17 a.m. Officer Matthew LaTour spoke with an Ash Street caller reporting that someone may have put the wrong type of fuel in their dump truck. He took an incident report.
12:57 p.m. A caller reported trees leaning into the roadway on Hill Street. Officer Aline Matos checked the area and reported no immediate hazard. The information was to be passed along to the DPW.
5:55 p.m. Officer Benjamin Vaz responded to Frankland Road for a report of a white dog running loose down the street. He checked the area with a negative find.
8:00 p.m. A Wood Street caller reported he had just arrived home and his mailbox was taken off its post. He also reported a tire nearby and was not sure if it was involved. Officer Kyle Quinzani checked out the scene.
9:22 p.m. A caller on Jamie Lane reported a bat in her house. A message was left for animal control, and dispatch provided the caller with pest removal services to contact.
10:01 p.m. A Commonwealth Avenue resident reported her husband would not answer her phone calls and told her he had not been home. Her new puppy had been in its crate for 13 hours without food and water. Dispatch advised that since the HPD had no key to obtain entry into the home it was a civil issue. The caller also was advised that officers could go and get the dog if someone was home with a key. Animal control was notified and attempts were made to contact the caller’s husband. Dispatchers were unable to get hold of a responsible party.

Aug. 6
11:11 a.m. A fire prevention officer reported a tow truck blocking the roadway on Saddle Hill Road. Officers blocked a section of the road off and turned drivers around. A tow truck was on scene.
11:50 a.m. Officer Matthew Santoro checked on a wire down between poles on Lumber Street. Eversource was contacted.
1:35 p.m. A caller reported an erratic vehicle almost struck his tractor-trailer twice on Interstate 495. The vehicle exited the highway and headed toward Upton. Units responded, and Upton Police were en route as well.
1:50 p.m. Eversource requested an officer on Lumber Street so they could remove a limb from telephone wires.
3:19 p.m. A caller reported possible fraud after sending $200 electronically to another party. He was advised to stop sending money, and an officer was to meet with him.
3:58 p.m. Officer Sean McKeon assisted Hopkinton Fire crews as they extricated a party from an elevator on West Main Street.
8:06 p.m. Officer Kyle Quinzani conducted a motor vehicle check on Fruit Street. Franklin Police reported they had run the vehicle many times but advised it was a well-being check the night before and the party was located in Bellingham.
9:07 p.m. A caller from Constitution Court reported a possible human trafficking transaction. In a follow-up call, she stated she saw what she believed to be a child-sized box. An incident report was to follow.

Aug. 7
10:53 a.m. Officer Nicholas Saletnik followed up on a parking complaint on Lyford Road where a vehicle was parking on common area grass. The HOA was notified, and Saletnik spoke with the parties involved.
10:56 a.m. Officer Noah Buentello responded to a hit and run involving a black Chevrolet on Wood Street.
11:46 a.m. A caller reported a hit and run on Elm Street. Officer Noah Buentello responded, and a crash report was to follow.
1:24 p.m. A Grove Street caller reported there was a weasel in a garage. Animal control was contacted and was to reach out to the caller.
1:52 p.m. A caller reported a fire in a trash can in the back of his pickup truck on Pond Street. Units responded with the HFD and reported it was a gas can that caught on fire. A tow truck was responding.
2:23 p.m. A caller reported a two-car crash on Grove Street. Units responded and took a crash report.
2:25 p.m. A caller reported tree branches were covering a one-way sign on A Street. As a result, vehicles were going the wrong way. The DPW was contacted and was to take care of it Aug. 10.
2:44 p.m. Units responded to South Street after a caller reported another driver on the road threatened him and was driving erratically. Officers spoke with the involved parties and issued a verbal warning to the other driver for following too closely.
5:54 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle on Wood Street that was all over the road. A verbal warning was issued for a marked lanes violation and a mechanical issue. It was determined no alcohol was involved in the incident.
6:40 p.m. Officer Nicholas Walker came across a disabled motor vehicle on Cedar Street. The driver was all set and was to be on their way.
8:47 p.m. A caller reported their daughter was home on Greenwood Road and a male party knocked at the door and rang the doorbell before moving on. Units responded, and the party was gone on arrival.
9:24 p.m. Officer Benjamin Vaz checked on a vehicle on West Main Street and spoke with the driver. All checked out OK.
9:45 p.m. Officers responded to a call of an erratic driver on the other side of the road on Hayden Rowe Street. They checked the area with a negative find.

Aug. 8
2:17 a.m. Officer Victoria Fullagar spoke with individuals out on Parkwood Drive. They lived down the street and were to be on their way.
8:50 a.m. An Ash Street caller reported wires were down in his driveway. Verizon advised it would add in a call but could not restore service without the homeowner calling. Officer Augusto Diaz Jr. responded and relayed the information from Verizon to the caller.
5:05 p.m. Units responded to a two-car crash with possible injuries on Cedar Street. Vehicles were towed from the scene. A crash report was to follow.
5:56 p.m. A caller reported a gray sedan on Cedar Street with too many parties inside and small children sitting on other passengers’ laps. Officer Benjamin Vaz checked the area with a negative find.

Aug. 9
6:19 a.m. A caller on Curtis Road reported concerns about a skunk in his yard and thought it might have rabies. Animal control was contacted, but the officer was out of town. He advised that the caller could keep an eye out and that the skunk probably would move along.
11:13 a.m. A caller reported a female party visited a church on East Main Street intoxicated and was acting strangely. Officer Aline Matos spoke with the caller and took a report.
12:08 p.m. Units responded to Winter Street after a caller reported a missing 2 1/2-year-old girl. Officers reported the child was located nearby in the backseat of a vehicle. All was OK.
1:27 p.m. A caller reported a crash on West Main Street with no personal injury. Officers took a crash report.
3:30 p.m. Dispatch received a complaint of parties drinking on Pond Street by Lake Whitehall. Officer Kyle Quinzani responded and advised the parties of the noise complaint.
4:33 p.m. A resident reported a female party walking up and down the road on Clinton Street screaming into her cell phone. Officers were out with the individual, who lives at Wayside Lane and did not want to speak with police.

Aug. 10
12:25 a.m. A DoorDash driver stated he saw a young male wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants hiding behind a tree across the street from a Huckleberry Road residence and thought it seemed suspicious. Officer Kyle Quinzani checked nearby with a negative find. He then checked the neighborhood and did not locate any suspicious persons or vehicles.
3:39 a.m. Dispatch noticed two people on camera walking away from the Sandy Beach restrooms and toward the parking lot. Officers spoke with both parties, who were to move along.
8:01 a.m. A Cedar Street resident reported his roommate wanted to go outside and fight. The caller did not want to speak with an officer but wanted the incident logged.
1:53 p.m. A caller reported a car crashed into a tree on Spring Street and had an airbag deployment. Officers responded to the scene and took a crash report.
4:00 p.m. An employee of the Water-Sewer Department requested the HPD contact the electric company regarding the pump station on Ash Street. He reported the power was fluctuating, causing the pumps to shut off and not start up or stay running. The electric company was contacted and was to send a crew to check out the issue.
4:34 p.m. A caller reported a red pickup truck pulled into a Main Street parking lot, and the driver got out and relieved himself. Officer Matthew LaTour checked the area with a negative find.
7:56 p.m. A caller reported a low-hanging branch over the road on School Street. A second caller advised the limb was touching the roadway. Sgt. Shannon Beloin responded and removed the limb from the road. A message was left for the DPW.
8:05 p.m. Ashland Police reported being in pursuit of two males on e-bikes who would not stop. They crossed the line into Hopkinton and were behind a church. Units were out with Ashland officers and checked the area with a negative find. At 8:45 p.m. Ashland Police reported locating the individuals on Union Street in Ashland and requested an HPD drone for a search.
8:46 p.m. A Valleywood Road caller reported a bat in their house. Animal control was notified and was to call the reporting party.
9:30 p.m. A caller reported a white minivan pulled into the trailhead on Whisper Way, shut off its lights, sat there for a few minutes then drove off. The caller reported they did not see anyone outside the vehicle, as there have been reports of illegal dumping in the area in the past. Units checked the area, and the vehicle was gone on arrival. They spoke with the reporting party and determined no illegal dumping had occurred in the area.
10:08 p.m. Officer Kyle Quinzani checked West Main Street after a caller reported an elderly male driving a mobility scooter out of the Golden Pond Assisted Living parking lot heading toward Lumber Street. The caller reported the scooter had no lights on it, and they were concerned for the party’s safety. Quinzani was unable to locate the individual.

Aug. 11
12:16 a.m. Officer Jennifer Manning came upon an occupied vehicle on Parkwood Drive. She spoke with the parties who were cleaning a property. All was OK.
1:59 a.m. Dispatch reviewed camera footage and noticed parties on Sandy Beach. Officer Jennifer Manning responded and spoke with the parties, advising them of proper beach use times before removing them.
3:09 a.m. A caller reported a tree was down across the roadway on East Street. The DPW was contacted.
6:06 a.m. A caller reported traffic cones were blocking a lane on Main Street. Officer Lucille Creedon checked the area and determined the only cones being used were in legitimate construction areas.
1:50 p.m. A Hayden Rowe Street caller reported a pickup truck was parked in his driveway and the operator got out with a bucket before later taking off. Sgt. William Burchard reported locating a few vehicles in the area matching the description, however nothing appeared suspicious. All was OK.
11:31 p.m. On camera, dispatch noticed a white sedan driving on the walkway near the Sandy Beach restrooms and later in the parking lot. The vehicle left the area before officers could respond..
