Main Street Corridor Project update: Eastbound detour via Pleasant Street continues

by | Sep 25, 2022 | News

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, the contractor will raise castings on manholes project-wide. As a result, the eastbound detour from Pleasant Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street and back to Main Street will be in effect.

On the east side of the project, there will be Eversource duct bank work from Ash Street to the eastern project limit. A single lane of alternating traffic will be used. Workers also will continue the service connections up to property lines from Muffin House to Ash Street.

At the Route 135/Route 85 intersection, workers will continue pouring and forming concrete sidewalks, including along Cedar Street and Grove Street. There will be concrete sidewalk work at the end of driveways on Grove Street (affected property owners will be notified in advance). Installation of light pole bases and new light signals will continue. Line striping of the pavement at the intersection will be done one night beginning at 8 p.m.

On the west side of the project, the contractor will continue grading, compacting, forming and pouring concrete sidewalks between Wood Street and the Fire Station. There will be concrete sidewalk work at the end of driveways (affected property owners will be notified in advance). Line striping of the pavement on Wood Street will be done one night beginning at 8 p.m.

Working hours for the Main Street Corridor Project are 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. No detours, one-lane closures or road closures are allowed from 7-9 a.m.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing the planned tasks. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
