Main Street Corridor Project update: Wall, walkway work continue

by | Oct 18, 2024 | News

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update released Friday shared that wall and walkway work will resume at 35 Main Street on Monday and Tuesday.

Similar walkway work will commence at 77 Main Street on Tuesday and Wednesday . Miscellaneous work will be performed along the corridor.

Overhead utility line transfer work will continue on the west side of the project during the upcoming week. On the east side of the project, brick strip installation will resume.

Eversource crews will continue performing the preliminary work associated with the transformers. All 12 transformers have been installed. The town is awaiting information on the schedule from Eversource to begin shifting power lines from overhead to underground. This work previously was expected to begin in early October.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing these tasks. This work may impact traffic and require lane and sidewalk closures, limiting access to driveways and entrances to businesses. Detours and alternating traffic patterns may be used as necessary.
