Main Street Corridor Project update: Work continues on both ends of corridor

by | Oct 4, 2024 |

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update released Friday explained that work will continue on both ends of the corridor during the upcoming week.

Overhead utility line transfer work will continue on the west side of the project. On the east side of the project, brick strip installation will resume. The announcement indicated that A.F. Amorello & Sons, the project’s construction company, will not be on site.

Eversource crews will continue performing the preliminary work associated with the transformers. All 12 transformers have been installed. Shifting power lines from being overhead to underground is expected to begin in early October.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing these tasks. This work may impact traffic and require lane and sidewalk closures, limiting access to driveways and entrances to businesses. Detours and alternating traffic patterns may be used as necessary.
