Marlen “Ted” Wilcox, 80 of Hopkinton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Lorraine (Gipps) Hanson and Marlen Wilcox. He was the husband of Carolyn G. (Wassenar) Wilcox of Hopkinton.
Marlen had been a truck driver for Allstate Trucking Co., Pyne Sand and Stone, and PIE. He loved Bluegrass music and enjoyed attending shows and festivals.
Besides his wife, Marlen is survived by his daughter, Wendy Hamlin of Willington, Conn.; his siblings, Beverly Pyne of Hopkinton, Brenda Prentice of Whitinsville, and Dean Hanson of Northbridge. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Emily Wilcox of Eliot, Maine, and one great-grandchild, Landen Wilcox. He is predeceased by his son, Jon Scott Wilcox and his brother, Ken Wilcox.
A funeral service was held Nov. 8 at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 or alz.org.
