Mary Tiziani

Mary T. Tiziani passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at her home in Hopkinton after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family and with her daughters, Kristine and Andrea, by her side.

Mary was the beloved wife of Roy P. Tiziani, who passed away in January 2026. While her family finds comfort in knowing they are together again, anyone who knew Mary is fairly certain she has already reminded Roy of a few things he forgot to do.

Born in Worcester, Mary was the daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie (Dowd) LaCroix and grew up on Arch Street in Framingham as one of seven children in a close-knit family filled with laughter, strong opinions and unwavering support.

Mary graduated from Framingham South High School and spent many years working for the Town of Framingham. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose remarkable gift for organization touched every aspect of her life. She was the planner, the keeper of traditions and the person who somehow knew what needed to be done before anyone else did. If there was a list involved, Mary was already three steps ahead.

Independent, honest and deeply caring, Mary found joy in taking care of others. Even in her final days, she quietly made sure important details were handled so her family would not have to worry. That was simply who she was.

After marrying Roy, Mary embraced Italian cooking with enthusiasm, mastering family recipes, holiday meals and legendary chocolate chip cookies that became a favorite among her grandchildren. She loved reading, spending time in Ogunquit with Roy and sharing life’s simple pleasures with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Kristine Cunningham and husband Ray of Andover, and Andrea Idelson and husband Joel of Framingham; her cherished grandchildren, Jake Cunningham and his Emma, Mora Cunningham, Riley Idelson, Joseph Idelson and Grady Idelson; her siblings, Kathleen Gillis and husband George of Cataumet, Jean Barker of Harwich, Joseph LaCroix and wife Audrey of Ashland, and Anne Casey of Danvers; her brother-in-law, Gary Santini of Campobello, South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Marcia LaCroix of Putney, Vermont; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Roy, sister Sharon Santini, brother John LaCroix, brother-in-law Tom Barker and brother-in-law Henry Casey.

Her family takes comfort in imagining Mary reunited with Roy, settling back into the rhythm they shared for so many years. They like to think she has already found a comfortable chair, a good book and perhaps a fresh notepad for a new list or two.

Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home of Hopkinton.

Obituaries are submissions, typically from funeral homes, that are not subject to the same level of editorial oversight as the rest of the Hopkinton Independent. Obituaries may be edited for grammatical and factual mistakes and clarifications and shortened for space considerations.
