Nanette Kenrick

Nanette Anne Kenrick passed away March 25, 2026, at the age of 79.

Nanette was a long-term member and director of the Hopkinton Historical Society, where she served as editor/writer for the organization’s newsletter. Nanette was a member from childhood of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Framingham. Later, she relocated to Hopkinton and joined St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Hopkinton, where she served in many fundraisers, including two high teas. She also served as a member of the vestry as clerk for four years.

Nanette was a graduate of Algonquin Regional High School, which she attended from 1960-64. While there, she participated on the Yearbook Committee, was editor of the literary magazine Sachem, and wrote book reviews for the school newspaper. Nanette also was a graduate of Worcester State College (attending from 1964-68), earning a B.A. in English and education. While there, she received the Esther C. Averill Scholarship for creative writing in her senior year. She also attended the University of Denver, earning her master’s in librarianship in 1974. She qualified for a certificate in school librarianship in Massachusetts. In addition, she enrolled in many classes in business at the Northeastern extension in Framingham. She also excelled in creative activities, like cooking and sewing, and attended evening courses at Assabet and Keefe Tech like quilting and watercolor design.

Nanette realized a lifelong dream by publishing a book in 2022, “Secret Letters to my Psychiatrist.”

Nanette worked as a librarian for American Optical Company at its Framingham facility, at Quinsigamond Community College as evening division librarian, and as a professional librarian at Worcester State Hospital, where she was recognized as a professional librarian by the governor of Massachusetts. She also held administrative positions at various local businesses. Her last position was at Home Instead, a caregiver position helping seniors.

She leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Frank William Kenrick and Jill Kenrick of Uxbridge. She also leaves behind her steadfast friends Heather Marco and Heather’s loving family of Hudson, her confidante and cousin Pam Smith Holman of Norton, and her supporter Nanci Valentino of Plymouth. Also, cousin Amber Bell, cousin Sharon Termini of Florida, cousin Kathie Milone and all her Milone cousins from Milwaukee.

With respect, she leaves behind her two doctors who served as mentors and dedicated many faithful hours: Patrick Guadiz and Jeffrey Goldbarg.

A funeral service will be held for Nan on Friday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street, Hopkinton. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road, Southborough.
