Ramp closures in place Wednesday night as part of I-495/I-90 Interchange Improvement Project

by | Jun 26, 2023 | News

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced it will be conducting overnight milling operations on the Interstate 495 southbound ramps to and from the MassPike in Hopkinton and Westborough. The work is scheduled to take place from 11 p.m. this Wednesday through 5 a.m. this Thursday.

The work will require temporary ramp closures and detours will be in place. When the I-495 southbound Exit 58 off-ramp to I-90 is closed, traffic will be directed to use exit 54A (West Main Street) in order to access I-495 northbound to I-90. When the I-495 southbound on-ramp from I-90 is closed, traffic traveling on I-90 will be directed to use I-495 northbound and take exit 59B (Route 9 west) back to I-495 southbound.

Signage, law enforcement details and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

The work is weather permitting and subject to change.
