Residents advised to be on lookout for property inspections as part of cyclical program

by | May 10, 2022 | News

The town’s Board of Assessors announced that Mayflower Valuation has been contracted to complete inspections of 500 properties in town over the next three months as part of the cyclical inspection program mandated by the Bureau of Local Assessment of the Department of Revenue.

The collection and maintenance of current and accurate property information is a critical element in the development of fair and uniform market values, the town noted.

Residents should be aware that Mayflower representatives might show up at their property for an inspection. The representatives will identify themselves with a business card and ask to conduct a complete exterior and interior inspection of the property, which will include exterior photographs, exterior measurements of the building and all other structures, and an interior inspection.

If the property owner is not home, a door hanger will be left asking the owner to call to schedule an appointment for the interior inspection.

For more information, call the Assessor’s Office at 508-497-9720.
