Rose Marie Gallagher

Rose Marie Gallagher, 87, of Holliston passed away on April 24. Born and raised in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Palmina (Fantasia) and Emilio Parrella. She was the wife of the late Norman Joseph Gallagher.

Rose Marie and Norman were married in 1955. They moved to Holliston in 1961. She graduated in 1975 from nursing school and worked as an RN at Framingham Union Hospital for 20 years. Norman and Rose Marie lived on the Cape for 14 years, where she worked at Cape Cod VNA for 10 years and volunteered at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster, before relocating back to Holliston. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and time spent on Cape Cod and in New Hampshire.

Rose Marie is survived by her children, Steven J. Gallagher and wife Susan of Bellingham, Norman M. Gallagher and wife Janice of Holliston, Kathleen Naughton and husband E.J. Bleiler of Holliston, Pamela G. Mann and husband Doug of Hopkinton, Margaret R. McClure and husband Kevin of Upton, and Joseph N. Gallagher and wife Jenna of Wrentham. She also leaves behind her siblings, Jeannette Boardo of Holliston, John Parrella and wife Nancy, Robert Parrella and wife Diane, Richard Parrella and wife Reva, and Michael Parrella, all of Medway; brothers-in-law Robert Gallagher and wife Virginia of Burlington, Hugh Gallagher of Medford, Richie Gallagher and wife Irene of Waltham, and Jack Gallagher of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a son, Paul Gallagher, as well as her sister and brothers-in-law, Annemarie, David and Kevin Gallagher.

The family wishes to thank MetroWest Homecare and Seasons Hospice for their dedication and care to Rose Marie.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, from 4-7 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ellie Fund for Breast Cancer, 475 Hillside Ave., Needham, MA 02494 or info@elliefund.org.
