Marathon road closure map

The town has released detailed information regarding road closures for Monday’s Boston Marathon.

On April 15 — as in previous years — roads immediately surrounding the start line and Town Common (Main Street, Ash Street, Park Street and Hayden Rowe Street) will close at 6:30 a.m. All other roads leading into the downtown area will be closed for general travel as of 7 a.m.

The major roads leading into the downtown area will be blocked at the following locations:
• West Main Street at Lumber Street
• Wood Street at Elm Street
• Hayden Rowe Street at Chestnut Street
• Ash Street at Blueberry Lane
• Cedar Street at Legacy Farms North
• East Main Street at every intersection

In addition to these locations, all roadways that are adjacent to the roads where runners, spectators, volunteers and workers are located will be blocked.

Hopkinton has provided two maps to show road closures, and highlight detour routes.
Click here for a map that shows a zoomed-in section of roads around the Town Common and start line. Click here for a map that shows a more zoomed-out view and illustrates the detour routes that will be in place once roads close.

Live updates on Monday regarding Marathon updates and road openings will be posted on Hopkinton’s Twitter account.

Additional information and resources can be found at Hopkinton’s Boston Marathon page or on the BAA’s Boston Marathon page.

Hopkinton Town Hall, Hopkinton Public Library and other municipal buildings will be closed for the Patriots’ Day holiday. The library also will be closed Saturday, April 13. Curbside trash pickup will be on a one-day delay for the week.
