The 300 block of Wood Street was closed for more than six hours Friday after a vehicle hit a telephone pole, injuring the driver.
The Hopkinton Police Department’s Facebook page initially posted the traffic advisory at approximately 3 p.m., cautioning residents to seek alternate travel routes.
“This was a single vehicle crash at approximately 2 p.m.,” stated Sgt. Detective Scott van Raalten in an email Friday night. “A telephone pole was hit in the area 352 Wood Street, and the road was closed till approximately 9 p.m.”
The operator of the vehicle, who was not named, was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, he added. A canine in the vehicle was not injured but was taken to Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton for housing.
The crash is under investigation.
