Hopkinton’s Tim Simoes drove out to North Dakota to participate in a collegiate summer baseball league there before returning for his senior year at West Point. In his debut for the Bismarck Larks on Thursday night — in his first at-bat, no less — Simoes hit a grand slam, helping his team to an 8-4 victory over the Bismarck Bull Moose.
Simoes picked up where he left off in March, when Army’s season was canceled after 15 games due to the pandemic. Appearing in all 15 games, Simoes hit .306 with seven RBIs and 11 runs scored and was named Patriot League Player of the Week in the season’s opening week.
Simoes, the son of HHS baseball coach Steve Simoes, prepped at Xaverian Brothers High School.
Had you in class in the “olden days at Hopkinton Christian Preschool.” Way to go! Tim…so proud to see your accomplishments. Mom and Dad…Super! Hope this year is the best ever. West Point?! What better? Love to the Simoes family. (Navy family, here…but we love USA military. Do your best, my dear.)
