HMS students selected for district music performance

Thirteen Hopkinton Middle School students earned acceptance to the 2019 Central District Massachusetts Music Educators Association Junior Festival, which was scheduled for April 27.

The students were selected from more than 600 who auditioned in early February.

The HMS representatives were: Chloe Baril (chorus/soprano), Abigail Baskin (cello), Erik Berlin (alto saxophone), John Carlson (trombone), Allison Chen (violin), Avani Daga (flute), Camryn Franks (cello), Brandon Fu (clarinet), Brian Gu (trumpet), Ryan Hwang (percussion-snare drum), Peter Liang (flute), Evan Mirazimi (bassoon) and Alia Ohira (cello).

Katherine O’Toole, orchestra teacher at Hopkinton Middle School, was the assistant orchestra manager for the event.
