Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Inspired by a personal experience, Hopkinton High School students Rylee Blair and Jahnavi Prudhivi created Infrared-Alert, a device that uses a transmitter that can send a signal to a receiver when a person or pet wanders past a certain location. This invention earned the two students the honor of being the highest-scoring team in the High School Division in the Massachusetts Invention Convention.
Like all high school sports teams, Hopkinton High School boys outdoor track and field has had to stay flexible and roll with the many changes imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. But, after the team’s second mask-free practice of the year, coach Brian Prescott said the large senior class has helped the Hillers put together a successful spring.
This week’s edition of Library Corner includes information on the reopening plan, book donations and a financial awareness program.
