Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
One of the many negative consequences of COVID pandemic had been a restriction on volunteering. In particular, each summer a number of Hopkinton teenagers join charitable or religious organizations that travel to other states and help build homes or do repairs for those in need of assistance, but the pandemic forced the cancellation or alteration of many trips. That didn’t stop Manoli Barris, a rising senior at Hopkinton High School, who organized his own group that traveled to Florida to work with Habitat for Humanity.
The town announced that Hopkinton Youth and Family Services has partnered with MindWise Innovations, a division of Riverside Community Care, to offer free, confidential online behavioral health screenings to Hopkinton community members in both English and Spanish.
A number of local products had impressive seasons this past spring for their college lacrosse teams, including a trio of Hopkintonians who helped the Roger Williams College men’s team go 8-4.
This week’s Business Profile highlights the exterior cleaning company Under Pressure, which has spent 22 years making tired, dingy homes look brand new through pressure and soft washes.
