Madeline Norton

Madeline J. Norton, 88, of Hopkinton passed away Sept. 14 at her home surrounded by family. Born in Natick, she was the daughter of the late John and June (Sobieski) Garvey and wife of the late Henry “Bud” Norton, who died in 1985.

Madeline worked as a bookkeeper for many years for St. John the Evangelist Church in Hopkinton and later St. Bridget Church in Maynard. She will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Norton is survived by her children, Debi Womack and husband Steven, Jack Norton and wife Robin, Nancy Cotter, Jim Norton and wife Alison, and Madelyn Joyce and husband John; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Danielli and husband Neer, Darcy Repucci and husband Nate, Jason Wright and wife Colleen, Justin Norton and wife Lauren, Michael Norton and wife Holly, Steve Womack, Sam Harris and husband Jamie, Stefanie Johnson and husband Dean, Marc Cotter, John Joyce and fiancée Jamie Lewis, Shawn Womack and fiancée MacKenzie, and Julie Joyce and significant other Ben Fuller; 15 great grandchildren, Eyal Danielli, Shiri Danielli, Enzo Repucci, Braden Chapman, Zevi Danielli, Natan Danielli, Leili Danielli, Isabella Repucci, Leo Repucci, Ryleigh Harris, Declan Wright, James Harris, Finn Norton, Liam Norton and Jax Joyce; and siblings Jack and Erma Garvey, Linda Curley, Margie and Jim Young, Richard and Thayne Garvey, and Dan Norton. She was predeceased by Barbara and Bob Benedict, Janet Norton, Jean and Ray Blake, and Jim Garvey.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 17, at 10:30 a.m. in St. John’s Cemetery, Mayhew Street, Hopkinton. Services are under the care of the Matarese Funeral Home of Ashland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Framingham Heart Study Research Fund, 595 Commonwealth Ave., Suite 700, Boston, MA 02215.
