Open Space Commission works on Whitehall

by | Nov 2, 2021 | News

The Open Space Preservation Commission announced that efforts continued late last month to remove invasive plants — notably bittersweet, Japanese knotweed, multiflora rose, barberry and glossy buckthorn — from the meadow area of the Whitehall Conservation Area.

According to a press release from the commission: “Mike Boelsen did the heavy lifting with his tractor, Chuck Dauchy of the Hopkinton Area Land Trust provided the technical oversight and detail work. Additional assistance was provided by Brian Morrison of Friends of Whitehall and Nancy Peters and Ed Harrow of the Hopkinton Open Space Preservation Commission.”

Added the commission: “Go outside and take a walk.”
