Patricia Carmichael

Patricia M. Carmichael, 87, died Dec. 4 at Milford Hospital. She was the wife of Richard L. Carmichael. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Dorothy (Schmutz) Mullin.

Pat was a 1953 graduate of Hopkinton High School. She worked a variety of jobs, including with the telephone company, for Bethany School, in insurance and various jobs at Hopkinton Drug. Pat was a true fan of the New England Patriots. Gardening was a favorite pastime. She loved playing in the dirt. She spent as much time as possible on the Cape and enjoyed the “tribe.”
The word family was too small for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is  survived by her children, June Johnson and husband Keith of Worcester, Daniel McBride and wife Janet of Pennsylvania, and George McBride and wife Awn of Thailand. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Maureen Zachary and husband Mark of California, and Edmund “Skip” Mullin of Ipswich.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home, 34 Church Street, Hopkinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, Dec. 10, from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
