Letter to the Editor: Fogg for School Committee

by | Apr 22, 2022 | Letter to Editor

I’m happy to support Ashley Fogg in her bid to fill the two-year term vacancy on the Hopkinton School Committee. Ashley is a friend of mine and I have seen firsthand how education is a priority in her household and to other families as well. To be honest, Ashley and I do not always see eye to eye on all school-related issues and I LOVE that, I NEED that, and others need that too! I want a person on the School Committee who thinks outside the box, considers all perspectives, asks the right questions and is not afraid to make tough decisions.

Remember the name, FOGG:

F — FOCUS. Ashley is thorough in everything she does in life, whether it is running as a first-time candidate for school committee or planning the next event as the HPTO Appreciation co-coordinator for the Marathon School. That takes focus.

O — ORGANIZED. This is an easy one for me to describe Ashley. She is organized in everything she does, and I have zero doubt she will apply the same organizational skills to her duties on the committee.

G — GROUNDED. This goes right along with Ashley’s campaign slogan: “Compassion, civility and common sense.” She is all these things that make her grounded.

G — GUTS. When Ashley found out there was a vacancy on the School Committee, she saw it as an opportunity to make a difference, even though she knew some decisions may not be well-received by all. That takes guts.

Ashley grew up in Hopkinton and has been on the Hopkinton PTO for two years. The Hopkinton Public School community deserves a dedicated, intelligent and resourceful voice on the School Committee, and that’s Ashley Fogg. As our district continues to grow more diverse and progressive, we need a champion like Ashley to be an independent thinker, understand all sides and make some hard decisions. I encourage the HPS community to support Ashley Fogg on May 16th.

— Shana Anandjiwala, Hopkinton
