Thrift Store
The thrift store is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Transportation Programs for Seniors
The Senior Center offers transportation to and from the Senior Center as well as local shopping Tuesdays through Fridays for Hopkinton residents. The Senior Center also can help residents find transportation assistance for medical appointments and essential shopping. Anyone interested should call the Senior Center to learn more about the transportation options.
Beginner French

Joy of Movement
Wednesdays, 10:45 a.m.
This exciting new weekly exercise class starts May 11 and is for those looking to shake off the winter doldrums and start moving and grooving with some stretching and warmups. Participants will learn some ballroom steps, belly dance moves, and beautiful expressive hula hands. This program is perfect for all fitness and all dance experience levels.
QPR Suicide Prevention
Wednesday, May 11, 2-4 p.m.
For anyone worried about suicide or who just doesn’t know how to ask about someone’s emotional health, QPR (question, persuade, refer) provides the skills to start a conversation. QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. Now, more than ever, people are struggling with mental health and stress. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs, how to offer hope and how to get help for someone in a crisis.
Healthy Brain Initiative
Thursday, May 12, 1-3 p.m.
The Healthy Brain Initiative is a new program supported by the CDC to improve the understanding of brain health as a central part of public health practice. The initiative creates and supports partnerships and aims to increase awareness of brain health. The Hopkinton Health Department and Community EMS will host this afternoon of education on ways to keep the brain healthy along with free cognitive screening.
Help Make Hopkinton Dementia Friendly
Wednesday May 18, 4-5:30 p.m., at Hopkinton Public Library
Participants can turn their new understanding of dementia into practical action that can help someone with dementia living in the community. Actions can be as big or as small as one chooses, because every action counts. This Dementia Friends Information Session is suitable for all ages. Participants will learn the five key messages, the different types and a bit about what it’s like to live with dementia. Everybody can help make Hopkinton a safer and supportive community for people with dementia. Reserve a seat by calling the Hopkinton Senior Center.
Plant and Book Sale
Friday, May 20, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Saturday, May 21, 9 a.m.-noon
The Friends of Hopkinton Seniors are excited to host their annual Plant and Book Sale.
A large variety of vegetables, flowers and plants grown and donated by greenhouse volunteers will be available at rock-bottom prices. Seeds have been started for over a dozen varieties of tomato plants including heirlooms. There also will be a wide selection of gardening books as well as cookbooks, children’s books, antique books, DVDs, CDs and so much more.
