Summer Saturday Matinee: ‘Abominable’
Saturday, July 23, 2-3:30 p.m.
The library will host Saturday movie matinees during Summer Reading. Snacks will be provided. The July 23 movie is “Abominable.” The July 30 movie is “Ron’s Gone Wrong.” Both are rated PG.

Sheryl Faye portrays Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Tuesday, July 26, 6-7 p.m.
This portrayal highlights the woman who taught people to “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” This show, for adults and teens, is the inspiring story of how she changed her life — and others.

Wednesday, July 27, 1-6 p.m.

Talk with an Artemis scientist
Tuesday, Aug. 2, noon-1 p.m.
This program includes a virtual visit from a real-life Artemis scientist. With Artemis missions, NASA plans to land the first woman and first person of color on the moon, using innovative technologies to explore more of the lunar surface than ever before. NASA will collaborate with commercial and international partners in an attempt to establish the first long-term presence on the moon. Then, using what is learned on and around the moon, NASA will look to take the next giant leap: sending the first astronauts to Mars.

‘Dyeing’ to Wear It — Create wearable art
Tuesday, Aug. 2, 4-7 p.m.
Color a classic silk scarf with natural, raw dyes. This interactive workshop is infused with storytelling by the artist, Rhonda Fazio, about textile history, and how its history interacts with American culture. This program is part of the library’s Summer Reading series. Registration is required, as space is limited. The Friends of the Library is sponsoring this event.

Frayed Knot Fiber Arts Circle
Wednesday, Aug. 3, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Participants are invited to bring their current project or pattern. This group is open to teens and adults of all skill levels. All fiber arts crafts (knitting, crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitch, etc.) are welcome. This group meets on the second and last Wednesdays of each month.
