Schedule update
The library will be closed Nov. 11-12 for Veterans Day and Nov. 24-27 for Thanksgiving weekend.

Book donations sought for sale
Friends of the Library is collecting donated books for its next book sale. Visit hopkintonlibraryfriends.org for information on donating. Due to restricted space for storage and the need for books that will sell, individuals are asked to donate only recent or special books that are in excellent condition.

Hopkinton Youth & Family Services drop-in hours
Wednesdays in November, 2-4:30 p.m.
A social worker from Hopkinton Youth & Family Services will be available to answer questions, connect individuals to resources and provide mental health services and behavioral health screenings. No appointment is necessary.

Conversation Circles
Thursdays, Nov. 10 and 17, 2-3:30 p.m.
This program will provide an opportunity for English language learners to practice vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar in a fun, comfortable, laid-back environment.  Registration is required via the library website.

Virtual Author Program
Thursday, Nov. 10, 2-3 p.m.
Bonnie Garmus is the author of the bestselling novel “Lessons in Chemistry.”
Tuesday, Nov. 15, noon-1 p.m.
Kwame Christian is the author of a new book titled “How to Have Difficult Conversations About Race: Practical Tools for Necessary Change in the Workplace and Beyond.”

Lessons From Trailblazing New England Women  
Thursday, Nov. 10, 7-8 p.m.
In this Zoom webinar, author Patricia Harris will give her popular presentation, “Lessons from Trailblazing New England Women,” based on her new book, “New England’s Notable Women: Stories and Sites of Trailblazers and Achievers.”

LGBTQ+ Book Club
Thursday, Nov. 10, 4-5 p.m.
This month’s book is “Elatsoe” by Darcie Little Badger. Books are available at the circulation desk.

SAT Strategy Session by the Princeton Review
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
This SAT strategy session with Princeton Review’s Sarah Cao will help individuals navigate the confusing world of the SAT. This program is free and is intended for high school students and parents. Participants must register for this session through the library website.

Monthly Music & Movement
Wednesday, Nov. 16, 11-11:45 a.m.
This children’s concert with performer Philip Alexander is recommended for ages 5 and under.

Advanced English Language Learning
Friday, Nov. 18, 11 a.m.-noon
ELL for the advanced learner will focus on creating greater fluency through casual conversation, focused discussion and cultural experiences. The atmosphere is relaxed and allows the learner to progress at their own comfort level. This class is a hybrid. One week the class will meet at the library, and the next on Zoom.
