Evelyn Mulcahy

Evelyn R. Mulcahy, 92, died of natural causes in Sandwich on Nov. 1.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Paul D. Mulcahy, and her sister, Joann Duffy of Texas. She leaves behind two brothers, Francis and Joseph Marquedant, both of Hopkinton, and eight children, Michael Mulcahy, Patrick Mulcahy, Maureen and Paul Benjamin, all of Framingham, Sheila Mulcahy and Mark Miller of Marstons Mills, Kathleen and Robert Garrity of Marlborough, Kelleigh and Richard Gilfoy of Sutton, Mary and Charles Johnson of Mendon, and Paulla and J.C. Davis of Charlton, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was born in Cambridge and grew up in Malden, and after marrying moved to Woodville to raise her family. Evelyn and Paul retired to Newbury, where Evelyn volunteered at Anna Jaques Hospital, and moved to Sandwich. Evelyn continued her passion of being a volunteer by shopping and cooking for the homeless, St. Vincent de Paul visits, and knitting blankets for veterans. She loved good literature and was active in Friends of Sandwich Library. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and long car rides. She was an active member of the Corpus Christi Parish.

She will be dearly missed by her friends, family, and community. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, at Corpus Christi Church, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, East Sandwich.
