by | Jan 6, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

At a hybrid informational meeting Wednesday night held at the Hopkinton Senior Center, residents urged the town to take a step back from joining Grafton, Southborough and Westborough in a proposed regional emergency communications center (RECC), citing concerns about security and displacing some the town’s dispatchers.

This week’s Hillers Thrillers Athlete Spotlight shines on sophomore girls basketball player Holly Paharik, who coach Mike Greco calls “one of the toughest kids I’ve ever coached.”

The Hopkinton Parent Teacher Organization (HPTO) will host the Harlem Wizards basketball team on Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the Hopkinton High School athletic center. In addition to performing tricks, the Wizards will play a game against Hopkinton schools staff.

Photo of the Day: The Main Street Corridor Project is on hiatus until April, and apparently so, too, are these signs, which sit in a resident’s yard near the intersection of Main Street and Wood Street.
