Arrests/Police Log, May 1 edition

ARRESTS

April 23
8:40 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle was backing up on the Interstate 495 ramp on West Main Street. Sergeant Aaron O’Neil and Officers Matthew LaTour, Noah Buentello, Cody Normandin and Kyle Quinzani responded. The State Police were contacted for a Spanish-speaking officer. Two males were placed into protective custody, and a third, A 45-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with driving the wrong way on a state highway, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and OUI liquor.

April 28
5:15 p.m. A caller requested a well-being check of a person in a vehicle on South Street who appeared suspicious. Officers Brennan Grimley and Tyler Staback responded and administered field sobriety tests and subsequently arrested a 25-year-old Ashland resident and charged him with OUI liquor.

April 23
1:51 a.m. Officer Tyler Staback made checks of Legacy Farms North.
7:10 a.m. The State Police reported a disabled motor vehicle. Officer Noah Buentello responded to DiCarlo Road and assisted until the vehicle was towed.
9:40 a.m. Sergeant William Burchard responded along with the Fire Department to a report of an outdoor odor of natural gas on Thayer Heights Road.
10:07 a.m. Officer Noah Buentello responded along with an ambulance to a medical alert alarm on Spring Street.
2:20 p.m. A detail officer reported a brush fire on Hayden Rowe Street. Officer Cody Normandin responded along with the Fire Department.
5:47 p.m. A caller reported his fiancee was staying at her friend’s house in Hopkinton and was tied up and being held for ransom. Sergeant Aaron O’Neil and Officers Noah Buentello, Cody Normandin and Kyle Quinzani responded and checked the area with a negative find. [Editor’s note: Police later indicated this was a hoax.] 6:49 p.m. A Cobblers Way resident reported his neighbor was digging near the sidewalk where there could be gas lines. Officer Noah Buentello responded and spoke to the homeowner, who was planting flowers on his property. All was OK.
7:38 p.m. A caller reported an apparent road rage incident on Hayden Rowe Street where the caller’s vehicle was nearly hit. Officer Cody Normandin responded and caught up with one of the involved vehicles, and the other took off into Milford.
7:48 p.m. A Legacy Farms motorist reported someone was following her after she honked at him. Officer Noah Buentello responded, and it was determined that she was not being followed.
7:59 p.m. A caller reported someone placed an AirTag tracking device on his car. Officer Noah Buentello assisted and took a report.

April 24
12:45 a.m. Officer Tyler Staback checked on South Street property.
6:43 a.m. A caller reported a pine tree branch fell on top of wires on Priscilla Road. Sergeant Arthur Schofield responded and contacted Eversource.
10:08 a.m. Officer Brian Ziniti assisted with changing a flat tire on a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street.
12:17 p.m. Officer Brian Ziniti made checks of the Fruit Street fields.
2:31 p.m. Officer Cody Normandin assisted a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street that ran out of gas.
3:03 p.m. Sergeant Arthur Schofield completed community relations on East Main Street.
9:24 p.m. Sergeant Arthur Schofield made checks of Wilson Street property.

April 25
12:28 a.m. Officer Sean McKeon checked on Parkwood Drive property.
1:41 a.m. Officer Sean McKeon made checks of Parker Point Road.
10:59 a.m. Officer Brian Ziniti assisted the Fire Department in responding to a fire alarm activation on Woodview Way.
3:30 p.m. An operations manager from UMass Memorial reported a transporter was told by a male party that he was assaulted by his previous caregiver. Officer Cody Normandin responded to West Main Street to speak with the male party, who stated he had been “joking.” A report was taken.
3:43 p.m. Officer Augusto Diaz responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two cars on Main Street and took a report.
4:20 p.m. A walk-in reported he lost his wallet. The incident was logged.
4:28 p.m. Officer Robert Ekross issued parking violations to two vehicles parked in the fire lane on Hayden Rowe Street.
5:20 p.m. A caller reported a rabid squirrel on Mayhew Street. A message was left with the animal control officer.
7:54 p.m. Officer Robert Ekross made checks of the former Center School property on Ash Street.
8:25 p.m. Officers Robert Ekross and Augusto Diaz checked on a vehicle at EMC Park on Hayden Rowe Street and found parent volunteers closing up the hut at the fields.
9:09 p.m. Officer Augusto Diaz checked on the LNG plant on Wilson Street.
9:24 p.m. Officer Augusto Diaz responded along with the Fire Department to a fire alarm sounding on Crispwater Way.
10:11 p.m. Officer Cody Normandin removed a large piece of plywood and some tarp and moved it to the side of the road on West Main Street. A message was left for the DPW for pickup.

April 26
12:36 a.m. Officer Brennan Grimley attempted to check on a person walking on South Street, and the white male in a navy sweatshirt and dark pants ran away. Officer Brennan and Sergeant William Burchard checked West Main Street up to the Upton town line with a negative find.
1:38 a.m. Officer Brennan Grimley made checks of Sandy Beach on Lakeshore Drive.
9:46 a.m. A walk-in reported someone with an unregistered firearm and no license to carry. Officer Nicholas Walker took a report of a weapon violation.
1:56 p.m. A walk-in reported someone threatened her son. Officer Nicholas Saletnik assisted and took a report.
3:05 p.m. Officer Robert Ekross assisted a person on Main Street and took a report.
3:09 p.m. A caller requested to speak with an officer about a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident. Officer Cody Normandin assisted.
4:43 p.m. A motorist reported the left turn signal on Grove Street was malfunctioning. Officer Cody Normandin responded and reported it was working properly, but he would check it periodically throughout the night.
6:43 p.m. A walk-in requested to speak with an officer about a strange encounter with her neighbor. Officer Robert Ekross assisted and took a report.
9:38 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle all over the roadway and braking for extended periods of time on Chestnut Street. Officers Augusto Diaz, Robert Ekross and Cody Normandin responded, located the vehicle and found a DoorDash driver who was lost.
10:32 p.m. Officer Cody Normandin made checks of the former Center School property on Ash Street.

April 27
1:44 a.m. Officer Brennan Grimley checked on Hayden Rowe Street property.
9:02 a.m. A caller reported he lost his female brown boxer in the woods on College Street. The animal control officer was notified.
9:51 a.m. Officer Augusto Diaz responded to a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street and took a crash report.
10:01 a.m. Officer Noah Buentello completed community policing on East Street.
11:49 a.m. A caller complained of speeding vehicles on Hayden Rowe Street due to a car show at the high school. Officer Nicholas Walker responded and conducted traffic enforcement for speeding vehicles in the area.
12:10 p.m. Multiple callers reported a male on Main Street yelling at loud vehicles. Officers Noah Buentello and Nicholas Walker responded and spoke with all involved parties, and the individual was to stay indoors for the rest of the day.
12:40 p.m. Sergeant Gregg DeBoer recovered an unwanted, realistic AR-15 toy gun replica found at the recycling center. The item was logged.
12:47 a.m. Officer Augusto Diaz completed community policing on East Street.
1:12 p.m. The State Police reported six vehicles speeding inside the State Park on Cedar Street. Officers Noah Buentello and Augusto Diaz responded and checked the park with a negative find.
1:19 p.m. Multiple callers reported a motor vehicle accident on Clinton Street. Officers Augusto Diaz and Noah Buentello responded and took a crash report. A tow truck removed the vehicle.
3:16 p.m. Officers Shannon Beloin and Kyle Quinzani made checks of EMC Park on Hayden Rowe Street.
3:57 p.m. A caller reported dogs barking on Claflin Place, and it sounded like one might be stuck. Officers Shannon Beloin and Kyle Quinzani responded and attempted to contact the homeowner. The animal control officer was notified, and a report was taken.
6:32 p.m. A caller reported a transformer was on the ground on Main Street. Officer Kyle Quinzani responded and reported a Verizon wire was down and a splice can was on the ground. Verizon was notified.
8:14 p.m. A caller reported an intoxicated Portuguese-speaking male walking down Hidden Brick Drive attempting to flag people down. Officers Matthew LaTour and Shannon Beloin responded and placed the Framingham man into protective custody.
9:09 p.m. The Upton Police Department reported an erratic operator speeding and passing vehicles on West Main Street. Officer Matthew LaTour caught up with the vehicle and advised the driver of the complaint.

April 28
12:44 a.m. Officer Tyler Staback checked on Woodview Way property.
3:46 a.m. Officer Brennan Grimley checked on a vehicle parked at the Fruit Street fields and found it unoccupied and secured.
7:56 a.m. A caller reported he sold an item to a Hopkinton resident, who returned the item but refused to return the accessories. Officer Nicholas Walker spoke with the caller and assisted.
8:57 a.m. A caller spoke with Officer Nicholas Walker about an incident that took place a few days prior.
9:04 a.m. A walk-in from Meserve Street spoke with Officer Nicholas Walker about a family issue.
11:14 a.m. A caller complained about a speeding vehicle on Ash Street. Officer Nicholas Walker responded, located the vehicle and advised the operator of the complaint.
2:44 p.m. A caller reported losing his boat keys the previous night and wanted the incident logged.
3:54 p.m. A caller reported he lost his wedding band the previous day and wanted the incident logged.
7:27 p.m. A Constitution Court resident reported a verbal argument with a neighbor. Officers Shannon Beloin, Matthew LaTour and Kyle Quinzani responded and took a report.
10:35 p.m. Officer Matthew LaTour checked on a vehicle on Pratt Way and found it unoccupied and with a flat tire.

April 29
2:02 a.m. Officer Brennan Grimley checked on Hayden Rowe Street property.
8:14 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle on Hidden Brick Road passed a stopped school bus with its light and stop sign showing. The license plate was given. Officer Matthew LaTour contacted the driver about the complaint.
9:56 a.m. Officer Brian Ziniti checked with an operator of a motor vehicle on Meserve Street and checked her license status. She was able to provide it.
10:31 a.m. Officer Noah Buentello made checks of the LNG plant on Wilson Street.
10:57 a.m. A caller reported a fallen wire on Saddle Hill Road. Officer Shannon Beloin and Kyle Quinzani responded and reported the wire was not a hazard at the time.
11:02 a.m. Officer Brian Ziniti assisted a person with non-firearms fingerprinting at the station.
11:50 a.m. A caller reported a very large brush burn by a Tammer Lane residence. Officer Noah Buentello responded along with the Fire Department.
2:39 p.m. A caller reported unemployment fraud. Officer Brian Ziniti assisted and took a report.
8:03 p.m. A Saddle Hill Road resident reported an autistic child on a bike shut the caller’s garage door and did the same to a neighbor previously. The caller wanted the incidents logged.
10:14 p.m. A Constitution Court caller reported a male was threatening and harassing her via cell phone. Sergeant Aaron O’Neil and Officer Nicholas Saletnik responded and spoke to all parties involved. Officer Saletnik went to the house of the person making the threatening calls and spoke to him and his mother and told him to cease contact.
