Letter to the Editor: The Preserve residents grateful for town’s support

by | May 12, 2024 | Letter to Editor

This is Eric Wieland, board member at The Preserve.

We, the residents at the Preserve, are very thankful to the community for their support at Town Meeting to vote down the rezoning of The Preserve.

We trust the members of the Planning Board understand they should not include parcels of land that are inhabited by Hopkinton residents [in the MBTA Communities Act rezoning areas]. If the town officials still believe that Hopkinton must comply with the state then they need to select parcels of land that can be developed and are not inhabited.

Additionally, as the law clearly states, the high-density housing does not need to be near the Southborough train station. We are an adjacent community, and housing can be located anywhere in Hopkinton.

Again, we appreciate the support from our fellow townspeople to protect the rights of The Preserve community.

— Eric Wieland, Hopkinton
