Letter to the Editor: Mimmo for Select Board

by | May 19, 2024 | Letter to Editor

I would like to endorse Peter Mimmo for the Select Board. There are a number of reasons for why I believe Peter will be a great addition to the Select Board.

Empathy and care: I have known Peter Mimmo for over 10 years. What I have always appreciated is his spirit of service and care for others. Peter has selflessly worked for the commonwealth in serving those in need.

Commitment to the town: He has also been dedicated to the town and has served in a number of roles — this enables him to deeply understand the issues the town faces, and his leadership will be valuable as we face critical decisions in the coming years.

Pragmatism: Our town is on the upswing and is growing rapidly. At the same time, we face critical decisions where we need to strike the right balance between funding relevant needs and fiscal discipline. Peter’s deep experience in dealing with conflicts and empathetic negotiation and collaboration skills make him ideal in driving to the right decisions.

Servant leadership: Peter never talks about himself and always focuses on others. He will bring the same traits to the Select Board, where he spends more time listening to folks and arriving at the right decisions, which will help the town prosper in the future

Experience: Peter has deep experience both in the commonwealth and with various roles in Hopkinton and is well versed in the details of critical issues. This will enable him to make thoughtful decisions that benefit the town both in the short term and long term

— Prasad Narasimhan Sulur, Hopkinton
