Desmond Edward Clark, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 14 in Marysville, California.

He was born on Nov. 26, 1955, in Hartford to the late Edward R. Clark and Fabiola Noel Clark. A graduate of Penney High School, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut. After relocating to Florida he maintained a residence in Dania Beach. His work as a troubleshooter in electrical power plants took him to Ghana and Venezuela. Most recently he was employed by North American Energy Services and was working as a sub-contractor for Calpine in California.

An avid fan of motor sports, he will be most remembered for his quirky sense of humor. He is survived by his sisters, Linda Clark Romagnoli and her husband, Mario Romagnoli, of Dobbs Ferry, New York, Marie Clark Large and her husband, A. Michael Large, of Sanford, North Carolina, and Diane Clark Casavant and her husband, Louis Casavant, of Hopkinton; and his brother, Edward John Clark and his wife, Mary Tranquillo Clark, of Jupiter, Florida. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, Anna Romagnoli, Edmund Romagnoli, Laura Casavant Pahigiannis, David Casavant, Michael Large, Zachary Large, Edward Clark and Nicholas Clark.

Mass of Christian Burial was held March 10 at St. Christopher Church in East Hartford, Connecticut, followed by burial at Silver Lane Cemetery. To leave an online condolence visit newkirkandwhitney.com.
