Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
Discussions over proposed plans for student parking at EMC Park monopolized Wednesday night’s Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, with representatives from school administration on hand to work on a solution.
Ed Augustus, the state secretary of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, met with area housing advocates Thursday for a discussion and to share information about state housing policy updates. State Rep. James Arena-DeRosa, who hosted the event, encouraged collaboration among all levels of government to solve the urgent need for housing in Massachusetts at all income levels.
The remainder of the high school state tournament schedules were announced Wednesday, and all Hopkinton teams earned home games for their openers. Softball and baseball play Saturday, while boys lacrosse begins postseason play Sunday.
Leading off Business Briefs, Blackstone Valley Wealth Management advisors James A. Valis and Gregg R. Manis were recognized with the 2024 Five Star Wealth Manager Award in the February edition of Boston Magazine. This award comes to the advisors for the 10th year in a row, since their opening of Blackstone Valley Wealth Management in 2013.
This week’s Baypath Adoptable Animal is 4-year-old Aspen, “a beautiful and affectionate lady looking for her forever home.”
