Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Days after signs opposing a proposed gas station were removed from residents’ yards, the town manager issued a statement claiming the signs were taken by “zoning enforcement officials.”

A string of automobile break-ins Wednesday and Thursday has led the Hopkinton Police Department to suspect an “active and organized theft ring.”

In her superintendent’s report to the School Committee on Thursday, Carol Cavanaugh referred to the Oct. 2 swatting incident at the high school and spoke about the situation in terms of how it related to cell phone use in an emergency.

The Open Space Preservation Commission at its meeting Thursday night expressed ongoing frustration about not being included in discussions with town committees and boards regarding open space.

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update shared that A.F. Amorello & Sons, the project’s construction company, will be onsite Tuesday to excavate the sidewalk in front of Town Hall for brick work installation.
