Ryan Branch, Lafayette ’21, took 69th at the Bucknell Bison Open cross country meet on Aug. 31. He covered the 6K course in 20:21.

Sara Freedman, Stonehill ’19, made 11 saves in goal in her field hockey team’s 2-1 season opening win over West Chester on Sept. 1. She made five saves in a 3-1 loss to Assumption on Sept. 4.

Maddison Gierschick, Babson ’19, recorded her 13th career shutout in goal as her soccer team defeated Illinois College, 5-0, on Aug. 31. She allowed one goal in a 4-1 win over Aurora University on Sept. 2.

Isabelle Giordano, Dartmouth ’21, finished 31st in her season opening cross country meet at UNH. She covered the 5K course in 19:49. Dartmouth took fourth behind Providence, UNH and Holy Cross.

Lauren Hazzard, Bucknell ’19, ran 15:07 to finish 50th at the Bucknell Bison Open cross country meet on Aug. 31.

Jimmy Hervol, UConn ’19, was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the 2017-18 academic year. To be eligible, student-athletes must be either a junior or senior academically, have competed in at least three full years at the collegiate level, have participated in at least 50 percent of their team’s competitive rounds, have compiled a stroke average under 76.0, and have maintained a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their universities.

Hervol, a two-time All-American Athletic Conference pick and a two-time PING All-Northeast Region selection, set a UConn record last season with a 71.6 per round scoring average for 35 rounds and shot 19 rounds of par or better.

Jake Kelleher, Salve Regina ’21, boosted his football team to a 27-21 come from behind victory over Worcester State on Sept. 1. The quarterback went 15-for-34 for 175 yards. He also rushed for 73 yards on 11 attempts.

 Jack McGuire, Endicott ’20, finished eighth in his season opening cross country race, the Battle of the North Shore at Gordon College, on Sept. 1. The co-captain covered the 5K course in 18:39.

Hayden Pereira, Salve Regina ’19, made five tackles, four solo, in his football team’s comeback win (27-21) over Worcester State on Aug. 31.

Nicholas Poillucci, Salve Regina ’20, made four tackles, including three solo, to help his football team to a 27-21 comeback win over Worcester State on Aug. 31.

Isaac Stilwell, WPI ’21, made a solo tackle in his football team’s 54-0 road win over Anna Maria on Aug. 31.
