HDTC to join other groups in national day of action

The Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee will hold another protest on the Town Common this Saturday.
The protest joins others across the country on the same day for the second No Kings Day of Action. Demonstrators will gather to participate in a nonviolent protest against what the No Kings organization describes as increasing authoritarianism from President Donald Trump.
The first No Kings day on June 14 featured a reported 50 million people across all 50 states join in protest of the current administration. “[The upcoming] day of action is the next step in this growing movement, channeling that energy into yet another coordinated, peaceful mobilization,” a press release from the HDTC stated.
Saturday’s protest is set to take place from 2:30-4 p.m. on the north side of the Town Common. Participants are welcome to bring their own signs, flags and banners to the event. Everyone who participates is expected to respect the No Kings commitment to nonviolent protest and to de-escalate any potential confrontations.
