ADULT PROGRAMS

On Courage, Turmoil, Transformative Power of Love
Thursday, May 7, 7-8 p.m.
In this virtual presentation, internationally acclaimed author Marjan Kamali will discuss the crafting of her New York Times bestselling novel “The Lion Women of Tehran.”

Textile Conservation at MFA Boston
Tuesday, May 12, 6-7 p.m.
Museum of Fine Arts Boston conservator Joel Stephenson will lead a presentation about her profession, including a discussion on techniques and best practices. Stephenson also will provide a photo tour of her current projects happening in the MFA’s textile lab this spring. This program is made possible by the Hopkinton Women’s Club.

Memorial Day Crochet Poppy
Monday, May 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Assistant library director Jak Miller will take participants through the steps to create small crocheted poppies. Crafters should be familiar with the following crochet stitches: chain, single crochet and half double crochet. Yarn and pins will be provided. Those with no prior crochet experience who want to participate in the workshop should contact Miller by email at jmiller@hopkintonma.gov for a one-on-one or small group lesson prior to the event. A signed CreatorSpace waiver is required for access. If the attendee is under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must sign the waiver prior to the event.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Babytime Special: Baby Prom!
Friday and Saturday, May 8-9, 9:15-11 a.m.
Babies 18 months and younger are invited to a special baby prom edition of Babytime. The program features extra long play/social time with music, a ball pit, sensory play, bubbles and more. Fancy clothes (or the child’s favorite outfit) are encouraged.

SCHEDULE UPDATES

The Board of Library Trustees will meet in the Ellsworth Room on Tuesday, May 19, at 7 p.m.

The library will be closed May 23-25 in observance of Memorial Day.
