Gregory Leal

Gregory Christopher Leal, 66, of Hopkinton passed away on July 4. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Alice (Fitzgerald) and George F. Leal Jr. He was the husband of 39 years to Rachel (Dyer) Leal of Hopkinton.

Greg enjoyed spending time at Woodville Rod & Gun Club, where he ran trap. He loved being outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, boating or snowmobiling. He rode his Harley every chance he got. He was an avid reader and a talented stained-glass artist. He also created artwork for his brother’s books. Greg was a Patriots and Celtics fan and went to games whenever he could. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, spending time in his garden and making homemade salsa from what he grew.

In addition to his wife, Greg is survived by his son, Joshua Leal; his siblings, George F. Leal III and wife Pamela, Katherine Clemence and husband William; Debra Leal and Colleen Leal-Foden. He is predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Leal, and his sister, Christine Wisnewski. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Jaz and Emerald, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 10, from 10 a.m.-noon at Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at noon. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org.
