Water-Sewer Department to conduct water main tests Thursday on Hayden Rowe Street, Ash Street

by | Jul 8, 2026 | News

The Water-Sewer Department will perform two water main test shutoffs on Thursday as part of ongoing reconstruction projects.

In a notice to residents, Water-Sewer Manager Jed Fenneuff announced that water mains on Hayden Rowe Street and Ash Street will be temporarily shut down between 9-11 a.m. on Thursday. The tests are part of reconstruction and drainage projects for each street.

Water will be shut down between 103 and 139 Hayden Rowe Street. A similar shutdown will happen from 15-32 Ash Street. Both are brief and intended to verify the isolation of the respective water mains.

Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released.

Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.

For more information, visit the Water Department’s website or call 508-497-9765.
