Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
It’s been an eventful last few weeks in Hopkinton, with residents doing their part to support social change while a few incidents have shown the town has work to do to eliminate racist and homophobic behavior.
Hopkinton students continue to excel in college, as evidenced by the the long list of achievements by residents this past semester.
The Boston Athletic Association announced yesterday that runners who were part of an official charity program will be invited to return for the 2021 Boston Marathon, although it’s obviously not yet clear what the field size for the 2021 race will look like.
The Select Board has scheduled a brief meeting tonight (7), primarily to select a chair and vice chair following Monday’s Town Election, as Amy Ritterbusch unseated vice chair John Coutinho. Also today, the Open Space Preservation Committee meets at 4 p.m.
For who missed Dr. Kalise Wornum’s Zoom talk on “Understanding Implicit Bias” last Thursday (some were unable to connect due to a glitch that limited the audience to 100), there will be a second talk tonight at 7.
