Main Street Corridor Project bid opening date extended 2 weeks

MassDOT has moved the bid opening date for the Main Street Corridor Project back two weeks, to Aug. 25. According to a press release from the town manager’s office, the decision was made based on input from Construction Industries of Massachusetts, Inc.

The release stated that due to the project’s size and scope, contractors have asked for additional time to fully review and prepare a responsive bid.

The project was first advertised by MassDOT on June 27. Once the bid process is complete, MassDOT will award the project so construction can be scheduled and a start date will be announced.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2021.
