Each week, the Independent highlights an animal available for adoption at Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton. This week’s adoptable animal is 8-year-old Dr. Pepper.

Here is Baypath’s description of Dr. Pepper:

“Hello, I’m Dr. Pepper, the most adorable senior you’ll ever meet! My sweet tooth is for life itself, not candy. Yes, I’m diabetic, but worry not — I’m as playful as a kitten. My condition requires a bit of extra care, but it doesn’t dampen my spirit. I’d prefer to be your sole pet, basking in all your affections.

“My curiosity is limitless, and I’m always on the lookout for new adventures. Circumstances led me here after my previous owner could no longer care for me. Nonetheless, I’ve adapted well, sticking to my feeding schedule and taking my insulin shots like a champ!

“I’m brave, funny, and smart, with a cuddly side sure to melt your heart. Adopting me means welcoming a loyal companion who will infuse your life with joy and laughter. If you’re looking for a laugh, a friend, a companion, look no further. Adopt me, and let’s sweeten life together!”
