Carolyn Fleming

Carolyn M. Fleming, 91, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formerly of Turnersville, New Jersey, passed away on May 5 at Arbor View in the Willow Valley Communities. She was the widow of Robert (Bob) Fleming.

Carol was born in Brockton to Dr. Eldon F. Egger and Mrs. Dorothy Egger. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and Bates College.

Carol was a loving wife and homemaker who enjoyed reading Agatha Christie and Sue Grafton mysteries, Erma Bombeck and other humorists. She and Bob played bridge with a group every month, entertained frequently and enjoyed going to Philadelphia Orchestra concerts. She volunteered as a Meals on Wheels deliverer. She loved to travel with Bob in her later years, through the United States, Europe and Scandinavia.

Carolyn is survived by a daughter, Jane Murdock, her husband, Stephen Murdock, of Hopkinton, and a son, Thomas Fleming, and his wife, Joan, of Chesterfield, Michigan. Her four grandchildren include Stephanie Murdock, Travis Murdock, Caelan Fleming and Clayton Watnoski.

A memorial service was held June 11 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Funeral services were under the care of DeBord-Snyder Funeral Home (debordsnyder.com).
