Democratic Town Committee to elect state convention delegates Thursday

by | Jun 15, 2021 | News

The Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee will hold a caucus Thursday night to elect delegates for this fall’s state Democratic convention.

The caucus will take place at 118 Hayward St., with a virtual component as well. The link to register and attend virtually is available on the HDTC website (HopkintonDemocrats.org).

Check-in and registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the caucus at 6. Following the caucus, the HDTC will host its June monthly meeting.

The event is open to the public, although only registered Hopkinton Democrats are invited to participate. Unenrolled voters who switch to Democrat that night may vote, as long as they have been registered as unenrolled for at least one week prior to the caucus. Republicans and third-party voters are not allowed to participate.

The state convention is scheduled for Sept. 25 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell. Delegates will adopt a party platform, discuss party business and celebrate successes as they prepare for upcoming elections.
