The Hopkinton Water and Sewer Department announced Saturday that there will be a required fire flow test Tuesday. Crews will be testing the fire pump systems on South Street.

Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate.

Individuals are advised to check the water before using it. Users may need to run the cold water line to clear the internal pipes after the test is complete.
