HHS sports roundup: Girls hoops sweeps Dedham; boys hockey blanks Bellingham

The Hopkinton High School girls basketball team picked up a 53-43 victory over host Dedham on Sunday, sweeping the two-game series and improving its season record to 5-1.

Kiki Fossbender scored 14 points, Caroline Connell scored 11 and stood out defensively, and Lauren Cho netted 10 to lead the way. …

The HHS boys hockey team posted a 6-0 victory over Bellingham on Saturday. Pavit Mehra opened the scoring less than a minute into the first half. After Ryan Teitel and Michael Berman scored to make it 3-0, Cam Jerrett scored with 22 seconds left in the period and Geoff Tocco, who assisted on Jerrett’s goal, scored one of his own with a second remaining. Andrew Moore scored off a Tyler Morse assist for the only goal of the second half. …

The HHS girls hockey team skated to a 2-2 draw with host Norwood on Saturday. Senior Kristin McCluskey continued her stellar season in goal. Avery Bent and Annika Yanoshak recorded a goal and an assist each, while Emily Swinamer had an assist.
