Hometown Barbershop plans to reopen Tuesday following Friday’s alleged stabbing

by | Jan 3, 2022 | Business, News

Hometown Barbershop announced Monday that it plans to reopen Tuesday, four days after Friday’s incident in which one of the barbers allegedly stabbed another barber with scissors.

Liz Hawkins, who is 12 weeks pregnant, is recovering from injuries she suffered as a result of the incident at the Main Street shop.

Harry David Martinez was charged with attempted murder, assault and battery on a pregnant person and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

“We want you all to know that Liz and the baby are currently recovering at the hospital,” Hometown Barbershop management posted on social media. “Liz has been with Hometown Barbershop since we opened our doors two years ago and we have been so grateful for her dedication to us and the community.

“After speaking with Liz and our other barbers, we have decided to reopen our doors on Tuesday 1/4 with the goal to continue serving the great communities around us.

“We’d like to ask you all to keep Liz and her baby in your thoughts and prayers as they recover.”
